Changes for 2019-20

Starting in 2019-20, AP Studio Art: 2-D Design, AP Studio Art: 3-D Design, and AP Studio Art: Drawing are now AP 2-D Art and Design, AP 3-D Art and Design, and AP Drawing. The portfolio requirements and scoring rubrics are updated, and the portfolios now have two sections instead of three: Sustained Investigation and Selected Works.

Coordinators no longer enter the fee reduction and class section information in the digital submission web application. Starting this year, you’ll indicate that information only through AP Registration and Ordering.

AP Art and Design Portfolio Exams are no longer ordered separately from other exams. Students will enroll in their AP Art and Design class section in My AP, and then they can be included in the exam order.

Students no longer indicate their free score report recipient in the digital submission web application. They only indicate their free score report recipient in My AP.

This demo provides an overview of the digital submission process and doesn’t go into detail about the changes to the AP Art and Design program for this year. 2019-20 Changes Related to Digital Submission

AP 2-D Art and Design and AP Drawing Selected Works sections:

  • Digital backups: AP 2-D Art and Design and AP Drawing students will now need to submit digital backups of the physical artworks in the digital submission web application. They’ll also still need to assemble a physical portfolio to submit to the AP Program.
  • Print and mail written evidence: AP 2-D Art and Design and AP Drawing students must also print their typed written evidence for the Selected Works section in the digital submission web application and include their printed written evidence in the physical portfolios they assemble for submission to the AP Program.
